A Normal Lost Phone

I’ll give that “A Normal Lost Phone”’s heart is in the right place, and in terms of conveying a narrative with twists and turns that is spurred on by the player’s intuition, it does a better job than, say, the much more roundly praised “Her Story”. That said, without getting into spoilers, the story being told feels hollow, as though being invasive towards someone’s private exchanges is enough to make them feel three-dimensional. I’m glad video games like “A Normal Lost Phone” are being made and getting press, but there are far better games out there that cover similar territory.
