Akira Hokuto vs. Meiko Satomura, from GAEA Limit Break 2001 Night Five

The civility ends with the handshake at the beginning of the match, with Hokuto slapping Satomura harder than Homicide slapped Corino. What follows is a masterfully-orchestrated war, Satomura fighting to stay level with the joshi legend and Hokuto fighting time itself, and the result is twenty minutes of action that effortlessly fly by. The selling is convincing, the suplexes will make your own neck hurt, and emotions are so high by the end that I’m not sure whether Mayumi Ozaki’s almost run-in was scripted or not, capped off with a fantastic finish. A classic that every wrestling fan should see.
