Black Mirror (Hated In the Nation)
"There is no murder. We make murder, and it matters only to us." -Will Graham, from Thomas Harris's "Red Dragon"
There's been some frustrating decisions made with the structure of this season, but little baffle me more than closing it with a ninety minute episode of "Fringe". It is a good episode with fine structuring, performances and themes, but why give THIS ninety minutes? There's nothing about its procedural formatting that couldn't have been chopped down to under sixty. My best guess is Brooker loved his red herrings too much to cut them, but who didn't call the culprit anyway?
