Borgen – Power & Glory (The Future is Female)

This Netflix reboot of a Danish political drama doesn’t get out of its first hour without spinning every plate in the kitchen. Between international concerns, infighting between Danish officials, the looming specter of climate change, and a breathtaking potential windfall at the center, there’s a lot going on here, enough that it could have stood for more scenes where characters plainly get the audience up to speed (I imagine binge watchers would appreciate this most). For this first hour, at least, the conveyed chaos registered as addicting and infectious rather than pretentious, and I’m hopeful future episodes reward my attention.
