Bridge to Terabithia (2007 film)

“Bridge to Terabithia”’s third act makes up for a lot of its shortcomings. The main plot here is bare—two kids bond over a wonderland of their imagination, which is fine place-setting but lacks forward momentum. The film has to rely on the charisma of its lead actors until the third act kicks in, and that it stays barely above water level is mostly due to AnnaSophia Robb being a fountain of effervescence. Then the third act kicks in, and the film turns into meaningful exploration of…I can’t, it is too good to spoil. Worth mucking through the first hour.
