Bryan Danielson / Daniel Bryan vs. Kenny Omega, from the September 22, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite (also billed as “AEW Grand Slam”)

One of the greatest matches ever held on free television. This banked hard on the novelty of this happening at all as well as the accumulated goodwill of both performers, meaning they didn’t need to reinvent the wheel to keep the crowd molten throughout AND there’s plenty left to explore in a rematch, but such a sentiment undersells the brilliance of this battle. The whole segment, entrances to exits, took up somewhere in the neighborhood of forty minutes and it felt like ten. This is the magic of wrestling. I could have stopped this review after writing the tenth word.
