Child’s Play (1988 film)

The concept is ridiculous, the action is silly, the swearing is copious, and there’s more false finishes than an NXT main event. That said, the first “Child’s Play” is a fine way of spending just under ninety minutes, with a surprising amount of logic in its narrative and characters for what amounts to a B-movie (example: a killer doll isn’t scary by itself, but that it is primarily targeting a child and knows how to sneak around makes it an effective villain). I’m not about to preach that this is an underrated classic, but it’s better than you might remember.
