Cunk on Earth (Season One?)
The greatest achievement here isn’t the seamless daffy idiocy mixed with editorial or Morgan’s commitment to her character, but rather, successfully landing a joke about Laika. The story of Laika is one of the saddest things to have ever happened, and that this show had me guffawing about Laika is like Pitchfork writing a Radiohead review without going overboard with superlative: it’s impossible. It’s enough to hint that, contrary to what’s been put forth by recent acclaimed comedies such as “Abbott Elementary” and “Schitt’s Creek”, jokes DO have a place in comedy and always will. I believe in the future.
