Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

The first two-thirds, heck, maybe the first seven-eighths of D2 are, at best, interesting reflections on the first game and, at worst, pretty screamingly awful trials that go for too damn long and lean hard on the Hangman’s Gambit minigame, aka its worst minigame. This is not helped by the trials seemingly running longer than the first game; the game prods you to take a break an hour into each trial, and that’s not a bad idea. The only way this could escape with even a moderate recommendation is if it kills it with that final eighth, DOT DOT DOT
