For as smooth as these two are in the ring, their outing here and on several other occasions is long on holds and cool stuff and short on meaningful storytelling. They throw each other around a whole bunch, but when they do the obligatory “both men struggling to get up” spot fifteen minutes in, I struggled to think of what they did to each other outside the past five minutes that built to this moment. If anything, the overbooking that most cited as a complaint in reviews at the time is a blessing—at least the referee shenanigans were amusing.
