Eddie Kingston vs. Miro / Rusev for the AEW TNT Championship, from AEW All Out 2021

It goes against conventional logic to open one of the most anticipated PPVs of the year with something besides a high-octane sprint; perhaps they were hoping the pre-show served that purpose or believed nothing on the show could serve that function. Regardless, this was a fun and well-constructed match, both workers having strategies that were easy to follow for those in row Z without forgetting this is an action show. I wouldn’t call this a MOTYC, but if you’re the sort who puts a lot of stock in finishing sequences, you may as well mentally add a point to this.
