F-Zero X

I played too many racing games on the Nintendo 64 out of an urge to get SOMETHING out of its paltry library above an affection for the genre. “F-Zero X”, judged just on its technical merits, shines above most of them, running at a shockingly high framerate and demanding pinpoint accuracy with the controls at higher instances of play. If you demand personality out of your racing games, however, or are no longer impressed by what the N64 could do, I doubt there’s much here. You can go fast, you can go really fast, or you can play something else.
