Gravitation

A weaker version of Jason Rohrer’s previous “Passage”, there’s still something potent here. The twist is obvious as all hell, and the overall message has been conveyed in so many more effective ways both before and after Rohrer put this out, but the execution is pretty tight and knowing what’s going to happen doesn’t fully diminish the power of the moment. “Passage”, though, had more to it than the artist committing himself to self-flagellation. There’s expressed pain in both projects, but “Passage” argued that there’s more to the whole equation than its negative aspects. Worth eight minutes of your time.
