Happening (2022 film; not to be mistaken for “The Happening”)

I’ve taken to trying to educate myself on films tackling this topic, and with my limited experience, I’m confident saying this is worth watching but better films like this exist. “Happening” banks hard on Vartolomei’s performance and building shots around her features, and the result is seamless nonverbal exposition that is also quite affecting. The score is great as well, sparing but adding unique flavor to what is otherwise what you’d expect from an acclaimed film about abortion. Not a patch on “Four Months, Three Weeks and Two Days” and “Never Rarely Sometimes Always”, but still better than most films.
