Io Shirai vs. Candice LeRae, from WWE NXT TakeOver: Toronto

For as good as LeRae is (and LeRae is fantastic, she’s already good enough to be champ on the main roster), this is the Shirai show, her big coming-out showing of what she can do when she’s working with someone in spitting distance of her own galaxy as a performer (sorry, Shayna). The result is a fifteen-minute encounter that felt like five minutes, with no down spots, a rocking crowd that was engaged the whole way, and an unforgettable ending. The second-best women’s match of the year so far, and the best to have taken place in the United States.
