Jennifer’s Body (unrated version watched for review)

A darkly comic rumination on toxic relationships, the perils of “nice guys”, and the grieving process; no wonder the marketing team didn’t know how to sell it. “Jennifer’s Body” isn’t the most razor-sharp horror-dramedy I’ve ever seen, but it’s better than most and features a career highlight performance from Megan Fox, who plays an unrepentant, egotistical murderer with a genuine(?) soft spot for her best friend, though her calculated stoicism was wrongly dismissed by most audiences at the time as Fox’s inability to emote. This derailed and destroyed some careers, a damn shame considering I’d love more films like this.
