Kenny Omega vs. Matt Sydal / Evan Bourne (Sydal gets a world title match if he wins), from the March 24, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite

I know of a lot of folk who were down on this, but I thought it was great. The story centered around Sydal working the best singles match of his life in service of getting another match and that Omega was having a hard time keeping pace, a handy excuse for both to bust out crowd-pleasing moves in service of (gasp!) an actual narrative. Even the ending felt earned, with what would be a negligible error in most matches having dire consequences here. Not AEW’s best match of the month, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this gets MOTY votes.
