Life on Mars (American version)
At seventeen episodes, this one season gets more episodes than the original “Life on Mars” did and yet goes far fewer places than the source material does. The first eight episodes keep up a good pace, but the story hits the skids in its second half when it becomes obvious that the show is biding time until the finale hits. Really, this is a season begging to be ten episodes, and for all the worth that is placed on the endgame, the endgame truly sucks. Its existence is almost justified by the shot of the Twin Towers in the 70s.
