Mad God
If you’re one who falls over projects that nail the aesthetics they are aiming for, to the point where all other flaws register as flies in the ointment, you’ll get a lot out of “Mad God”. So many shots here abound with ingenuity and focus, and the overall feel does a lot to convey the film’s crapsack world without resorting to explicit exposition. There’s only so much “Mad God” can coast without purpose or a gripping narrative, however, and despite its eighty-minute runtime, I found myself getting bored halfway through and the film never won me back. Promising but disappointing.
