Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
“Metal Gear” as a comedy? Sure, why not, it is already halfway there. The initial impression “Revengeance” gave off was off-putting, but the finished product is a gloriously, wonderfully strange beat-em-up that knows the value of overprocessed music, ultraviolence, and DAT MOMENT WHEN DA VOCALZ KIK IN. It is hard to not fall in love with a game so willing to do goofy shit with cyborg ninjas, to the point that the scene most reminiscent of “Metal Gear” drama falls flat on its face. Not a deep, thought-provoking, or serious game, but only Platinum’s other games do character-action brawling better.
