Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
The lesson to take away from “Twin Snakes” is forget being mechanically complete. “Metal Gear Solid” is not mechanically complete—moving around is awkward, as is aiming, and engaging in combat scenarios outside of boss fights is an exercise in frustration, and that’s the point. “Twin Snakes”, on the other hand, gives you the tools from a more well-rounded game while offering no counterbalance. You can now shoot anything you want pretty much anytime you want, and isn’t that what you always wanted? There’s a reason this remake hasn’t been ported to other systems, and I’m totally fine with that.
