Nigel McGuinness / Desmond Wolfe vs. Bryan Danielson / Daniel Bryan (Pure Title rules) to unify the ROH Pure Championship with the ROH World Championship, from Ring of Honor Unified (revisited)

It’s saying something about how good Danielson is that this is one of the greatest matches ever worked and also wasn’t his best match in 2006 (that would be his war with KENTA a month later). Here, he’s an arrogant git with a plan, one that works so well that McGuinness, who towers over Danielson, constantly has to take risks to keep pace with the world champion. The ruleset might hint at a match full of armbars and headlocks, but this is as explosive as any WrestleMania main event, closing with one of the most memorable sequences in ROH history.
