One Cut of the Dead
Getting into why “One Cut of the Dead” succeeds as it does, even in perfunctory manners, risks spoiling some of its thrills; I’m usually not one who is a stickler for avoiding spoilers, but I’d say the trailers are off-limits. What “Dead” succeeds in doing, however, is convey a love of creativity, chaos, and cooperation with a shoestring budget, a witty script, and some awe-inspiring filmmaking, and the result is the best horror satire since “Shaun of the Dead”. One could argue this isn’t the best comedy of the decade, but it is undeniably one of the most technically impressive.
