Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Battle of Los Angeles 2016 Stage One

The 2016 edition of the most prestigious independent wrestling singles tournament begins with a night of mostly good matches and a few great ones. There are a handful of odd choices in the show's layout as well as one or two underwhelming matches (*cough* mundo vs. sydal) but those choices mostly consist of matches lasting too long, and I'd not say anything here is actually bad. Two outings here deserve MOTY votes, and the main event is a hysterical shitshow worth seeing at least once. A two hour show that feels half its length, Stage One is simply a joy to watch.
