Ricky Marvin vs. KENTA / Hideo Itami, from Pro Wrestling NOAH Autumn Navigation 2009 Night One

I don’t want to advocate that every match should be less than five minutes, and I doubt this was setting up a killer rematch like the later two-minute bout between Hiromu Takahashi and KUSHIDA, but I can’t tell you this wasn’t exciting. They basically cut the match to the bone and deliver what would be the awesome finishing sequence to a proper twenty-minute bout. Your mileage may vary as to whether or not that’s preferable to a proper twenty-minute match, but considering that stood a chance at having a considerable heat segment with nothing happening, perhaps this is an improvement.
