Rise of the Planet of the Apes

I know this film has plenty of fans, but I found little to appreciate here. It all comes across like knockoff Transformers—the characters are one-dimensional tools, the plot is undercooked even by the usual standard of blockbuster popcorn flicks, and more time seems to have been spent capturing the good side of the male lead than trying to get the CG characters at the center of the film out of the uncanny valley. Unlike Transformers, however, this isn’t even exciting, wasting over an hour forgetting this is supposed to be an action film. Point subtracted for the Alzheimer’s crap.
