Rival Turf

The nicest thing I can say about the Rushing Beat series is that they improved at a rapid and respectable rate, which is no help to this starting point. It is functional, I guess, enough to occupy the attention of children for a weekend (hand raised), but this imitation of “Streets of Rage” is easy, sloppy, and altogether uninteresting outside of the dead giveaway this is a 90s game. It isn’t maddeningly frustrating, but I’d almost prefer having that problem if only to fix how boring it is. Still, not even the tenth-worst game available on the SNES Online library.
