Schitt’s Creek (Season Two)

It’s appreciated that The Best Show On TelevisionTM gets away from being knockoff “Arrested Development”, with the Roses growing more empathic and becoming more responsible for themselves, but they forgot to replace that part in their comedic formula. The result is television that’s boring most of the time, though certainly far from “The Office” at its worst. Even its successful material aims to provoke giggles above belly laughs. Perhaps future seasons work out something meaningful from the material, but there’s nothing in this show’s first two seasons that strikes me as exceptional or on par with the best modern comedies.
