Sick of Myself
The biggest Norwegian film since “The Worst Person in the World” is a tougher sell: a dark dramedy with horror elements about a woman that resorts to ludicrous degrees of self-harm to take the spotlight away from her boyfriend’s art career, occasionally taking unnecessary potshots at holistics (unnecessary because we all know it’s bunk and have already made these jokes). It’s a social satire, basically, and needs to land both the jokes and the special effects to work, and you can ask my neighbors how many times I yelled “JESUS CHRIST WAT” to get a sense of the hit percentage.
