Simon Killer

I’ll give that “Simon Killer” conveys a convincing depiction of a sociopath. Heck, I’ll even say that there’s some good filmmaking here, from some effective uses of licensed music to the film never going out of its way to beat you over the head with Simon’s lies, trusting their audience to pay attention to his inconsistencies. It’s a lot of work that doesn’t go anywhere, though. Simon is creepy and unreliable and there’s plenty of ways this could pay off, and “Simon Killer” chooses none of them. Some might call this “thought-provoking”, “mysterious”, “minimalistic”, and “difficult”. I call it “boring”.
