Star Wars I-III: A Phantom Edit (fan edit by Andrew Kwan)

The prequel trilogy’s chief failings come from its inconsistent tone, an overcomplicated plot of mostly little consequence (one film’s plot is all about a trade dispute), and Anakin’s arc being underdeveloped and unconvincing. Barring the occasional cut where the editing seams show, Andrew Kwan’s edit of the whole trilogy down from nearly seven hours to just under two solves these problems, rewriting it to hyperfocus on Anakin, from his (now) straight-foward romance to his fall from grace being motivated by more than a politician’s lie. I sincerely recommend swapping this out for the prequels during your next “Star Wars” marathon.
