Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (version found in the Switch port of The Cowabunga Collection played for review)

Obviously cobbled together as a title to sate Genesis owners wanting something along the lines of “Turtles in Time”, “Heist” doesn’t come close to challenging that standard. Throws are harder to do, levels are longer than they need to be (it always feels like there’s at least one too many packs of enemies per encounter), and the overall presentation is well below what was accomplished on SNES. What’s here, however, is still impressive, with faster attack patterns giving the title a unique identity that makes for a busybody brawler better than a few “Streets of Rage” titles. Underrated, I’ll argue.
