Tenebris Somnia (2024 demo)
In constructing this recommendation, I have some fear that I’ll be calling “Tenebris Somnia” a one-trick pony in six months or whenever it releases (the gameplay seems mostly done but the developers have written about doing shoots as recently as last month; whatever). Mixing live-action cutscenes with gameplay that looks constructed in AGS, to be fair, is a hell of a trick, most fully realized in this demo with the final shot serving as a terrifying interruption; if any game has attempted something like this, it’s surely not been realized this well. It’s an amazing effect, and I want more.
