The Edge of Seventeen (2016 film)

Watching a random selection of half a dozen films made in the eighties should provide enough argument against "going back to when teen movies were done right" (go ahead, watch "Sixteen Candles" now, see what happens), but there's something to be said for evoking a bit of the magic of the decade. "Seventeen", like a good many of these films, cares little for proper narrative and a lot about giving its lead a lot of time to shine, and they've got a hell of a lead in Hailee Steinfeld. These are the parts of 80s films we like to remember.
