The Expanse (Back to the Butcher)

There was no way this or any show could maintain full speed ahead for a whole season and I appreciate that the brakes are pumped so we can catch up with what’s going on, but I’d be lying if I said I was invested in the plot thread introduced here. Without spoiling it, what’s here feels incidental and rushed and I struggle to understand how it feeds into the greater narrative, and what’s worse is it probably comes across well on paper (literally—these were novels first, remember?). The rest is fine, but this is the worst episode so far.
