The Expanse (Windmills)

Like the past two episodes, “Windmills” is short on active plot progression, but this time, “Windmills” does some interesting things with its downtime. “Windmills” is about the value of pragmatic wrongdoing against doe-eyed heroism, spelled out most explicitly with the on-the-nose-but-revealing bit about someone being obsessed with “Don Quixote” while missing the entire point of it. It’s a conversation that lasts the whole episode and involves several characters sorting out their thoughts and feelings about it and is much more revealing (and gripping) than these folk oversharing while drinking. A certain other fantasy show excelled at this for a while.
