The Menu (2022 film)
This gets good when it firmly establishes what kind of comedy it is going to be. The first act hints it is going to be a dime-store version of “eat the rich”-style dramedies “The Menu” was never going to have a prayer of topping, but while it kind of is that, it has a greater appetite for being sardonic than being gross, and I struggle to think of anyone better suited to anchor such a project than Fiennes, visibly relishing the material. It’s not the smartest or best of its kind, but it’s consistently funny from the second act onwards.
