The Star Wars Holiday Special

Anyone that tries to claim any of the theatrical “Star Wars” films have hurt the franchise needs to learn to save their hyperbole for when they REALLY need it. The best part of this garbage fire, centered around Chewbacca’s family who are seemingly named after symptoms of mosquito bites, is Bea Arthur’s inexplicably committed turn as a smartass bartender, while the low point comes with whatever the blazes is going on with Diahann Carroll’s character. A laconic summary of this special would likely make it sound like a bonkers good time, but it mostly settles on being aggravating and annoying.
