The Suicide Squad

If every film in the DCEUWTFSTFU was exactly this good, I wouldn’t be so tempted to mock folk still asking for the Ayer and Snyder Verses to be released. James Gunn has a proven track record for making people care about disparate people brought together to advance a common goal, but the shades of morality brought by the Squad concept combined with Gunn’s love of hysterical ultraviolence (watch “Super”) make for a film that certainly feels inspired by “Guardians” but could never be mistaken for a clone of it. The best superhero film of 2021 by quite a large margin.
