The Worst Person in the World

The most significant factor in why Joachim Trier’s latest hasn’t already been canonized as the Millennial equivalent of “Easy Rider” or “Annie Hall” might be that the minds in charge of such discourse don’t like to read subtitles. Damn shame, really, as this dramedy about a woman who is equally romantic and narcissistic breathlessly conveys heart and wit through the language in cinema in manners I dare not spoil (all the press spoils the best moment anyway, though I assure it’s not the only spectacular use of special effects). The sort of romance film unromantic folk would absolutely adore regardless.
