Totally Killer

I suspect Nahnatchka Khan’s comic chops might be a bit rusty given she spent the past three years working on “Young Rock”, a show bereft of humor at the direction of Dwane “The Seven Dollars” Johnson according to a rumor I just started. That would explain why the jokes of “Killer” often seem to aim closer to making the audience say “oh, Jesus” rather than explosively laugh. Much of it still works, though, thanks to some of the bon mots landing, Shipka elevating the material, and the setpieces in the final third being kind of cool. More comedy than horror.
