Tyler Black / Seth Rollins vs. Nigel McGuinness / Desmond Wolfe for the ROH World Championship, from Ring of Honor Take No Prisoners 2008

It seems obvious NOW that these two could put on one of the greatest matches of all time, but going into this, the notion that the lackey of Jimmy Jacobs had more than sick flips in him seemed wishful thinking. (For context, Black turned twenty-two shortly before this show aired.) After an initial five minutes that progress like most ROH title matches comes basically a fifteen-minute heat segment asking if Black belongs in this spot, and the primal screams from the crowd reacting to every nearfall provided more than sufficient response. Little surprise one of these two would main-event WrestleMania.
