WWF WrestleMania 2000 (Game Boy)
A game of underhanded compliments. This is, without exaggeration, better than the console versions of the previous WWF games and exhibits some understanding that wrestling games can be more than unwieldy fighting games. It also leaves the previous WWF mobile games in the dust, with a surprising amount of production value and attempts at capturing the feel of the television show (peep the 8-bit renditions of the bumper music). Eventually, though, one has to admit this is pretty bad, slow combat in a ring that’s too big and paling in comparison to the later Fire Pro ports. Interesting but shallow.
