Arrested Development (Season Two) (revisited)
The crowning achievement of “Arrested Development”’s second and arguably best season isn’t that it sets up a bunch of spinning plates and keeps them all up; rather, it does this, succeeds in hitting its punchlines, AND makes it look easy. These elements were present in the freshman season but they’re especially pronounced here, to the point that when Tobias claims he’s been working for Michael despite never being at Michael’s office, it registers as possibly true because everything has been happening seemingly everywhere so why not. The rare case of a reduced episode count (most likely) hurting a network comedy.
