Atsushi Onita, El Hijo del Santo, and Tarzan Goto vs. Horace Boulder / Horace Hogan, Negro Casas, and Tim Patterson (Best Two Out Of Three Falls), from FMW in Los Angeles

I suspect there’s a bevy of wild brawls from the eighties through mid-nineties that earned five stars from Grandaddy Meltzer on little other basis than that ECW didn’t exist yet. This is an unholy hybrid of FMW’s trademark mindless brawling and, on account of the two legends not wanting any part of that garbage, classic lucha libre, certainly never boring but never gelling into an interesting narrative, either. It at least works wonders to mask Horace’s deficiencies as a performer as the uninitiated would consider him a passable wrestler based on this outing. Not the worst five-star match ever, somehow.
