Black Mirror (Bandersnatch)

“I’m used to living in a disassociated universe.” -Jennifer Hale

It’s tempting to try to parse out the meaning behind the first “Black Mirror” film, stylized as a choose-your-own-adventure game, but it so quickly throws out and discards themes that to reduce it to just one message is at best reductive and at worse insulting. What’s more interesting is the reactions it provokes, how some are quick to make this a story about mental illness and others towards the illusion of free will and still others about the validity of metacommentary. If nothing else, its wild journey is entertaining throughout.
