Black Mirror (Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too)

“…Being alive is pretty much a constant stream of embarrassment” -Pod 153, “NieR: Automata”

This reads a lot better if you interpret it as an R-rated Disney Channel Original Movie. The first half is about how public perception of idols can do damage to all parties, and while that could have led to a fine payoff in the second half, reading “Exhalation: Stories” last month had me wanting this to go in a bonkers, perhaps thoughtless direction, and without spoiling this episode, I got what I wanted out of this mess. Gloriously stupid; YMMV on whether that’s a good thing.
