Bridesmaids
This film is not a sophisticated and masterfully constructed comedy. It gracelessly throws its cast into comic situations, and its nonchalant approach to structure hurts it the most as it limps towards its end—it just can’t find an interesting way to make its characters apologize. Good thing the film is hysterical; for whatever it lacks in finesse, “Bridesmaids” more than makes up for with the number and quality of its jokes, from the awkward toasting sequence to the greatest poop joke of the past decade (fight me, “The Help”). An easily likable, messy film that struggles with its bookends.
