In this era where it’s acceptable for some celebrated comedies to go entire seasons without a good joke, it’s weird to look back at the product of a bygone time, when a half-hour with immaculate writing and on-point delivery was met with critical thumbs in the middle, leaning up. “Cheers” would prove itself to be no one-episode wonder, but time has been kind to this.
