CM Punk vs. Jon Moxley / Dean Ambrose to determine the undisputed AEW World Champion, from the August 24, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite

It’s too early to understand what this match “means” or how it will play into ongoing storylines; any effort spent speculating would be better spent on so many better endeavors. For the short term, what matters is what this means for the rematch and AEW main events in general, and as someone who loves twenty-minute championship matches but has grown frustrated with how too many of these matches are constructed so only the closing two minutes truly matter, I love how this match rocked the boat. NJPW did this more successfully with KUSHIDA vs. Takahashi, but this was good, too.
